Driving in to work this morning I counted around 9 police vans, all fully loaded with policemen/women heading out of the city along Smithdown Road. The vans were the sort that are kitted out with wire mesh on the windows.
Most were going at a leisurely pace in groups of two or three, but a bunch of three of them, plus a squad car had "music and lights" in operation and were travelling at speed.
I wonder what's going on? It looked like the sort of operation normally reserved for arresting bomb-factory suspects. We're getting close to the anniversary of last years atrocities in London.
Perhaps it was just the morning shift for the Toxteth Police Station on their way to work?, or is it the welcoming committee for Steve Gerrard after not scoring his penalty?
