Ainsdale Beach

We took the Hobbits out to Ainsdale Beach (between Formby and Southport) early this morning. Early for us that is i.e. we set off at 10:30 and got there about 11:00.

A long hike down to the sea for a paddle in the surf. The tide was coming in fast. Our first sandcastle was drowned by the waves in less than a minute.

As well as the sea and beach the Hobbits got to see boats, a tractor, an oil rig (offshore in the distance), kites and a small radio monster truck that was whizzing around the hard sound.

I think that the next time we go I might take the Dragon Kite that I bought a couple of months ago, and haven't had the opportunity to fly.

We caught the last of the good weather, it was bright, hot but with a very strong breeze. The rain started coming down when we got home around 13:30.

The fresh air got to all of us, so it was a good long snooze for everyone this afternoon.
