Hospital Trip

Having a bit of a weird day today. It's supposed to be a 'study day', working from home. Unfortunately Novelist Supermum's hangover on Sunday has developed into serious back and stomach pains, so I took her to the G.P. this morning, who then had me rush her into hospital.

She's having a load of tests and scans today, so I'm running around like a blue arsed fly dealing with the kids, and sorting out a minder (Grandma) for the rest of the week.

She's got a book release tomorrow - I'll have to contact her publisher to tell them that she's not going to be available for any promo.

Sounds like I've sat on my phone again. An old pal just sent me an email to ask me "hows things?". He's had a voicemail that lasts for ages and sounds like me talking to the kids.

A Couple of Days off Sick

Turned out to be a short week at work this week, since on Tuesday afternoon I felt some flu-like symptoms coming on. Felt really queasy as I set off for home. Called the boss to tell him that I wouldn't be in the next day. Drove carefully home. Walked in the door, threw up. Rang one of my colleagues to get him to cover my early shift. Cleaned up and went to bed.
Still a bit rough on Wednesday, and recovering on Thursday, so I didn't get back to work until Friday.
Still feeling pretty lethargic this weekend (what's new). Have begun to tidy the house but not get very far. My illness could have been due to a severe housework allergy reaction since I cleaned the bathroom on Monday night (although it's more likely to be something I caught off the kids - I should inform the military about their ability to regularly create personnel disabling germs.

Germs

Too full ob code to blog properly.
We've all gone down with some nasty germ.
Frodo's off school. Novelist Supermum is throwing up on the kitchen floor. Samwise is snottier than usual. I'm at work feeling blurrgh!! Leaving work as early as I can today.

It was Frodo's Easter Service at school yesterday. Didn't have any tapes for the camcorder, and we'd lost the charger for the digital camera (found it last night) - which means that this year I actually got to watch it - rather than being a cyborg-parent looking through a viewfinder.

Frodo was in the chorus for an Easter Chick song - wearing a yellow chick mask and flapping his elbows along with the rest of his class.
