HMS Liverpool leaving the Mersey for the last time - 1pm 28 Feb 2011. Saluted by ferries and tugboats she sailed out to sea with Rod Stewart's 'Sailing' (amongst other appropriate tunes) playing over the landing stage tannoy.
Thanks. Some came out a little on the dark side for my liking - still learning how to use the camera, and it's tricky shooting on the river. (I haven't bothered tweaking the photos afterwards). Got to try out the monopod feature of my tripod (one leg unscrews), which saved me having to rest on the railing.
