Small boys in the park...
It was a fine windy autumn day on Saturday. I took Frodo and Samwise up to the local Park and showed them the location of the "secret" Horse Chestnut trees that I know about. We collected a huge bag of conkers. Next I need to show them how to play - might have to invest in some safety goggles and hard hats - since this highly dangerous pastime is banned in their school.

Sounds like a lot of fun.
Maybe get a T-shirt with the HSE assesment of the safety risk from playing conkers of "incredibly low and not worth bothering about" ;-)
How old are they now? Isn't about time they got a pen knife?
No - they might slip whilst carving a nib on their quills :)
